About Me

My name is Oskar Magnusson and I am a game programmer currently working at Quickspin.

As a developer at Quickspin I make slot games. Most of the time we have only one developer per project so I'm involved with every part of making the game from implementing the game flow, feel, various FX and all the game mechanics while making sure the perfomane is good and there are no buggs. Since there is only one developer per project I have to work very independently and learn to collaborate with every other team member from artist, animator and server side.

Before I joined Quickspin I had an internship at Studio Gobo where I worked as a technical designer on Hogwarts Legacy. Main part of my job description was to work as a bridge between design and the technical implementation of the design. I worked closely with the designers to help them create tools, fix problems and implement features. Every feature that is developed must go through a strict review where it is very important to make sure nothing is half done.

The internship was a part of my education at The Game Assembly. The education is focused on programming and has a practical approach. A main part of the education is about learning to program games from the ground up and then apply that knowledge with a team that specialize in other areas of game development and together make a game. We made a lot of different games as a part of the education, one of them got nominated for best technical execution at the Swedish game awards.

I've always had a great interest in game development. Therefore, after high school I choose to study game development and programming. First at Södertörns högskola where I studied game design and scripting. It was a very broad education so I learn a lot about the different areas of the game industry.

As a person I am driven by the result of a project. I am a team player and knows the importance of working and helping each other to make the best product possible.
